Notes:

Ello there and merry christmas you filthy animals! Here is my latest project I have been working on recently for you all to enjoy. I thought the title for

this release should be "Tonight's Entertainment on BBC1", named after the taper in Recorder 1 saying this before Money, one of the many highlights from this

show.

This show looked like a promising project from the get go. As discussed in the Recorder 2 thread, these two recorders have such different attributes to

one another that when combined, they complimented each other so well. As soon as I finished Sheep, another one of the many highlights, I knew I had to

do the whole show, as it captures a different atmosphere to Oakland or Boston for me as well as others. With at least a record breaking 82,000 people

at this show, you certainly feel like you are there now with this mix.

Included in this torrent is some bonus Christmas stockings from myself, Atomicgamer400 and WorldmanOne. This consists of a cover, the 8mm video re-synced

and colour corrected, Atomicgamer400's ticket stubs, and some extra memorabilia such as posters, a cruise flyer, and newspaper clippings!

I would have included photos as a bonus but there are so many out there I would have missed some for sure! Even some comments of the show are interesting!

In fact, there are a few I've seen of the radio station WMMS supposedly broadcasting the show live to try and help calm the crowd getting in down...

Mastering Notes:

Recorder 1 was used as my primary source, except for SOYCD I-V and Us And Them due to Recorder 2 cutting in before; opting for that one in those cases.

For Recorder 1, I did not get rid of either channel because as said previously by neonknight, although the left channel is stronger throughout this

recording, both channels are contributing in the primary source. Also, for the Master DAT, I EQ'd this to roll off some low end and bring out more highs

and panned this in the right channel, with the raw being panned to the left.

Recorder 1 was EQ'd to bring the bass/low end out of this recording more as well as certain parts of the mids to compliment Recorder 2's mids and high ends.

This source is also the louder one of the two in this matrix most of the time as it is more direct and clear in comparison to Recorder 2.

For Recorder 2, both channels were EQ'd individually as it is stereo, both getting rid of some boxiness in the recorder at around the 400Hz range and

bringing out more of the recording elsewhere in the lows, mids and highs. Furthermore, a de-click from RX8 was used as this was quite frequent in the

higher frequencies.

Finally for the mix, a maximiser was applied to stop clipping at points with loud fireworks (a given for a late June 1977 show!)

Final Notes:

Finally, I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone behind these recordings and this project, including but not limited to:

Roscoe59 and Eric S. (The people behind the release of Recorder 2)

neonknight (Transferring 2 of the 3 sources used for Recorder 1)

stratcat58 (Providing one of the superior sources of Recorder 1 for the community)

buffalofloyd (Providing the other superior source of Recorder 1 for the community)

kbrubaker and Bert13 (Providing another one of the sources of Recorder 1 for the community)

WorldmanOne (Creating the cover as well as helping sync the 8mm video)

Atomicgamer400 (Providing ticket scans and helping sync the 8mm video)

As always, share freely, don't convert to MP3 unless for personal use, DON'T CHARGE ANYONE FOR FREE MUSIC, etc.

Enjoy and Cheerio, Happy Holidays!
