(010182)Rush - 1980-02-02 - Fort Worth, TX - Timeless Wavelength - Hogweed'22

Rush2 February 1980
Tarrant County Convention Center, Fort Worth, Texas

Contrast clause:
This is a remaster based on the ‘Timeless Wavelength’ release from Digital Reproductions, currently available here:

Lineage: Master cassette > Hifi VHS > DAT > CDR
It is an exceptional audience capture of the complete concert in close to master lineage, however I felt the eq on this release was so harsh that it required rebalancing to make it an enjoyable listen. In the process, a few other adjustments made:

• Azimuth adjusted to centralise stereo field (-12 samples, R Ch)
• Eq balance (reduced very prominent ‘presence’ band, plus numerous smaller adjustments, which included bass to balance overall volume levels in each channel)
• Removed 30Hz hum
• Removed a few clicks where I came across them.
• Edits/fades left as originally made.
• Pitch checked, correct to within 10 cents.
• Master levels to -6dB
• Retrack > Export to flac

A quick Hogweed remaster, May 2022.

Taper: Minnesota Mike

This is straight from the mastertape. I have not done any EQing, filtering, editing, or any kind of tampering with the sound.

I don't put sound ratings on these uploads -- I'd prefer to have somebody independent (such as yourself) judge that. So, after you've downloaded and listened, post a comment on the sound quality.

Minnesota Mike made audience recordings of shows in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area between 1978 to 1985. He used a stereo Sony TC-D5 tape recorder and two Shure microphones, top-of-the-line equipment in those days. He recorded shows just for himself and never made copies. I met him years later and he allowed me to trade tape copies around 1993. Later when the technology became available, I traded some on CDR. So some of the copies that are out there are second generation or more, and some are earlier digital copies of the master. I made this improved digital copy in 2006 with azimuth adjustments on the tapedeck and a Terratec EWX soundcard to the computer.

this show was first circulated many years ago, and probably not here.it got a needed new transfer for this posting, and was just over 43 years ago.
it's the full show except for the 1st few seconds of the spoken intro and track 22 after the tape change. nothing was missed for the tape flip.
from the master tape, only time I ever saw the Captain live.
2 years earlier I saw the Magic Band with Billy Cobham (no Beefheart, different unrelated band entirely)
wish I had seen both nights, it was "original", but hard to put a label on their style of music.
some samples are in comments. ian

(009664) BOB MARLEY - 1980-xx-xx Pomps and Pride Demos

Bob Marley - Pomps and Pride Demos #400412

what you are about to find here has been (to the best of my knowledge) available to only
a few people until it was finally "liberated" over at M&T for Mr. Marley's birthday

I've had my copy for little while longer so for those who finished their download at
M & T and would like to join seeding here I'm not sure if this will work - my version
does NOT come from there...it is extremely likely that they come from the same source
and might have the same track lengths (I haven't compared them yet); however, the check files might not match

anyway, these five songs have been circulating as the "Pomps and Pride Demos"

01 Pomps and Pride
02 Russian Invasion - Take 1
02 Russian Invasion - Take 2
04 Slogans - Take 1
05 Slogans - Take 2

400412

"Pomps and Pride" and "Russian Invasion" have yet to see any official publishing

there is some speculation as to when this stuff was recorded...Stephen Davis writes in his marley biography that Bob was

preoccupied with "Slogans" while in London during the summer of the 1980 Uprising Tour...others believe that while he might
have worked on the song he did not start recording early versions until later that same year (September, Essex House, NYC)

to sum it up I guess the general consensus at this point is that this material was recorded between 1979 and 1980.

Possibly recorded at Essex House, NYC, NY in September 1980.

Notes:
This has been an uncirculated recording as the audio cassette has been stored in Erwin Lucas collection.
On April 2016 he sent Stevehunter the tape, Stevehunter transferred it and sent me the Wav files to work on.
About the confirmation this is really from Carlisle 1980, at the end of "Charlotte The Harlot" just before "Phantom Of
The Opera" Paul Di'Anno says " this is the first time here, we have never played Carlisle before". So, it's confirmed!
Well, here you have it my friends. Greetings from Erwin Lucas, Stevehunter and Vitor. We hope you all enjoy!

(Vitor aka Neoplasmah, May 2016)
