This is my recording of this gig, and I know other versions of this show have been on here before but are not currently on the tracker.

I have also traded this show for the likes of Hawkwind during postal trading a number of years ago and

somewhere along the line it maight have been previously shared on here, however its not on the tracker

and this is the 1st time I've made it available on here.

Due to the Paris terrorist attacks in the days prior to this concert, there was heightened security on the door

with everyone being body searched.  So consequently thanks to all tapers past and present that run the risk of

having equipment confiscated and entry barred into concerts in order to record shows that

we can all enjoy many years after the event.  In the case of this gig six years after the event.

Taped in the stalls, from right hand side of mixing desk, 12 to 15 metres from the stage, in a central position.

What a great show, incredibly loud and I mean breast bone rattling loud.  The new songs intergrated well with all the old

classics.

Sound quality, well you decide, its difficult to judge your own recording, but it is a Tascam DR 07 which is a great bit of kit

so 7.5 pushing 8/10 or EX pushing EX+

As always support the band by buying their LP's, CD's T Shirts and other merchandise.  I have tickets to see them in Manchester

next year with Ozzy if he's well enough then.

Enjoy

(010136) GENESIS - 1973-10-26 - Newcastle, UK - Live In Newcastle - Eeklair-Spc flac

Genesis
1973-10-26
Venue City Hall,
Newcastle, England

From the 2lp TAKRL Bootleg, "Live In Newcastle"

d1t01 Watcher Of The Skies
d1to2 Dancing With The Moonlit Knight
d1t03 The Cinema Show
d1t04 I Know What I Like
d1t05 Firth Of Fifth

d2t01 The Musical Box
d2t02 More Fool Me
d2t03 The Battle Of Epping Forest
d2t04 Old Henry (barely tangible)
d2t05 Supper's Ready

Eeklair's notes: The mastering on this as a whole was shite. The azimuth is nowhere near the zero point of calibration in relation between the tape and the deck it was ripped from... THEN, the level saturation from lathe to vinyl was below 50%. This was one clicky noisy bugger!!

So I applied Adobe Audition's Auto Click finder/eliminator with 85% complexity and 70% intensity settings (very nice indeed), then I reduced what i consider an appropriate level of hiss - not too much as to remove the natural ambience of the show (Pay attention, Digital Brothers!). So a bottom level of hiss is present. Removing any more would destroy the integrity of the instruments/reverb/ambience, etc.

THen I raised the overall volume level from about 45% to about 85%. It's still about a B- recording, but it's better than before.

If the taper could possibly cough up the source tapes, we could master this thing properly...

Yeah, dream on eek, dream on..

Cheers

Eeklair

Very first show of the Tyr-tour.

Playing time: 2h 11m 43s

I haven't seen a lot of Tyr-shows around and this setlist is

quite unique, because 'Anno Mundi' is the only Tyr-song that was played

after this tour (UK leg of Cross Purposes) and this has the  full

 11-minute (Drum)Solo by Cozy Powell.

One annoyance is that the taper or someone close to him keeps talking

during the songs.

The sound quality is very good.

Artwork is taken from 'Sabbathlive.com', they are not all that clear,

especially the setlist on the back.

I reworked and resized my own artwork, but I have to scan it to

share it, so that wouldn't be an improvement I guess.
