========================

Thanks to my friend Wes M., we now have another batch of master tapes that are going to be circulated for the first time.

This should be new for all the Aerosmith fans, collectors.

On this particular recording, the levels were low and after the tape flip were even lower.

I've boosted the volume +6 to +10 dB.  This sounds much closer and louder now.

Thanks to Wes for doing the tracking and Thanks to Jeff for taping the show and sharing his master tapes.

The opening act was Collective Soul.

Check samples and Enjoy !!

There is a circulating DVD of this show but it doesn't appear an audio capture has been shared.

16 High Time We Went

Notes: This was our 3rd concert of the season, and a highly anticipated one at that: Eric Clapton, returning to the Mile High City for the first time since his tour with Steve Winwood in 2009. This was my 3rd time seeing EC, but my wife has seen him at every visit to the Denver area since 1983 (!) - he is definitely her favorite performer, so, even at $270 per ticket (!), we were definitely going.

And, Slowhand did not disappoint. He sounded great, his playing was great, the setlist was a nice cross selection of favorites and blues, with a lengthy acoustic section in the middle. Great band, too - Sonny Emory is not a player I was familiar with before this show, but he was a monster. As the show was winding down, I was thinking to myself "too bad Clapper couldn't find a way to give Paul Carrack a lead vocal" when they came out for the encore and Paul took the lead for High Time We Went, which also features Jimmy Vaughan (the opener, which I also recorded).

Enjoyable as it was, this was a tough show to record - the venue was, alas, completely sold out and the crowd was very enthusiastic. Everyone we sat next to was polite and kind, but they were there to get into the show - not that I blame them. Plus, we weren't exactly in the sweet spot of a cavernous sports arena - 17 rows up from the floor on the right side. Still, all things considered, this isn't a bad capture. The acoustic section took a bit of boosting and quite a bit of clapping and hollering was limited - this is definitely an audience recording - but, it's an entirely enjoyable listen. I'm sure we'll be listening to it for years to come.

At least one more show to go this year, my favorite non-Beatles band up next...

Finally: please don't sell the recording, but, otherwise, do with it what you wish. Share it and trade it, and remember: these and other greats will not be around forever, so, let's enjoy them while we have them. Best wishes to all of the fans out there and Namaste.

(007683) 10,000 Maniacs xxxx-xx-xx "The Soundboard Archive" (16-bit) (FLAC)

10,000 Maniacs - “The Soundboard Archive”

Thanks to the original uploaders!

For some time now, I have been making “The Soundboard Archive” compilations. My live-music collection had become so massive that I thought it pointless to keep "multiple-to-the-nth-degree" versions of the same songs, especially for "non-jam" bands: thus the genesis of this project of mine.

This has been my methodology:

I. Choose a trade-allowing artist (= "not on LL's / TTD's NAB lists") & collate all of the tracks from my “SBD” flac/shn files for said artist.

As of this writing, I've made compilations for the following, in chronological order:

01. Gillian Welch & David Rawlings

02. Marvin Gaye

03. Alison Krauss & Union Station

04. The Fall

05. Blind Melon

06. Rush

07. Eddie Money

08. Bob Marley & The Wailers

09. 10cc

10. Alabama Shakes

11. 10,000 Maniacs

12. 311

13. Doc Watson

14. AC/DC

15. Adele

16. Adrian Belew

17. Radiohead

18. The Alarm

19. Billy Joe Shaver

20. Led Zeppelin

21. Bottle Rockets

II. Listen to each track and choose what sounds to my ears to be the “best” version.

III. Rename each chosen track and add tags detailing date & venue.

IV. Compile “the winners” into a “The Soundboard Archive” collection – after ensuring (to the best of my ability) that NO included tracks have been officially released.

Enjoy! Support the artist and buy the officially-released items (to the best of my knowledge & as of this writing; asterisks denote BGE/Wolfgang’s Vault) -

(007178) Grateful Dead 1973-10-20 Denver Coliseum, Denver, CO (24-bit) (FLAC)

A few tracks of this show showed up on a Road Trips Release, which mostly featured the next night at the same venue. IDK why this show never saw an official release because it's better than 10-21. The rational thing to do would have been to put out a seven or eight disc box set of both these shows. Instead we got a RT.

This is sourced from a reel found in one of Garcia's homes in 1979 with a stash of other reels that the GEMs people occasionally transfer. It's a good sounding transfer. Play loud.

(005872) Pink Floyd 1994-06-18 Mile High Stadium, Denver, CO (FLAC)

Hi, I've been very busy but here is another one of my master recordings of Pink Fraud in 1994. When the band broke into Astronomy Domine to start the show, I thought the night was going to be magical, but no such luck. Don't care too much for the Division Bell material, but the older stuff is always great when Mr. Gilmour is at the helm.

The recording is pretty decent, but lots of excited audience - check the samples and enjoy.

24 With A Little Help From My Friends

Notes: First time I've been at this venue, so, was uncertain as to what to expect. Unusually, my wife was unable to attend, so, my neighbor joined me for this show. Bellco Theatre seats 5000 people, making this a larger venue than the nearby Paramount Theater - much to my surprise, the venue was largely filled

for Ringo's performance. We estimated attendance at 4500.

Our seats turned out to be quite far from the stage, but, fortunately, we were two rows directly behind the soundboard, so, to my ears, the sound was really

very good. I sat on the aisle, which meant that people were squeezing past to get out of the row and, the couple next to us were frequent bathroom visitors.

Other than a brief interlude at the beginning of the show, where you hear me tell them they're trying to sit in my neighbor's seat ("these are seats 401 & 402, you're 403"), there aren't any real distractions to the recording.

The performance was very enjoyable. The pleasure of seeing the All-Starrs is in the jukebox-like setlist - virtually every song is a hit. The exceptions were

Stuart's performance of "Work To Do" (the audience noticeable started for the concessions or restrooms at that point) and Winter's singing "Johnny B. Goode", which, of course, was a hit, just not his. Besides Ringo's songs (he was who I was there to see), I particularly enjoyed Colin Hay's songs (Men At Work were one of my first "favorite" bands when I was a middle schooler in the '80s) as well as Edgar Winter's songs - "Free Ride" being an especially fun in-concert song.

I've also included 62 (!) pictures that I took from our seats - as noted, we were quite far from the stage, so, they're not particularly sharp, but, they give you a sense of where we were in the venue and a look at the stage set up.

Finally: please don't sell the recording, but, otherwise, do with it what you wish. Share it and trade it, and remember: these and other greats will not be around forever, so, let's enjoy them while we have them. Best wishes to all of the fans out there and Namaste.
