Note that the last three tracks of disc two (which comprise the encore in full) are not from the master soundboard source. They are in mono, but from a direct source nonetheless. It's likely they originate from an in-house video soundtrack, though I can't confirm this.

With the above caveat out of the way, it's an absolute pleasure to present another blistering show from the 2000 tour in pristine quality. What separates this recording from many others is that it hasn't been widely circulated. I'm pleased to present, for quite likely the first time in public domain, this wonderful show...and what better venue for its release than a site sanctioned by Pete Townshend himself. Those who have heard this show already know what a treat it is; those who will be hearing it for the first time will no doubt enjoy it time and time again. It's simply another rare gem that is finally, and rightfully, seeing the light of day. As always, enjoy!!!

Show notes: The first of three hometown shows to end the long and arduous Monster tour. The setlist followed the structure of the rest of the October/November shows with three new songs scheduled early in the set, with Losing My Religion sandwiched inbetween to reward the patience of fans. I really wish they'd played Binky The Doormat after this tour, it's a long lost gem. This was also only the third ever performance of Find The River. Amanda Brown's contribution on violin really helped the songs she played on as well, including that one. And to celebrate her 30th birthday the day before she got a very heartfelt happy birthday sung to her by the band and the crowd. Bill's encore choice at this show was the Fleetwood Mac classic Tusk which brought back memories of 1984, and Michael also threw in some Ghost Rider for good measure. A great first show.

Recording notes: No two ways about it, this is a superb soundboard recording. The original notes thanked "Old Man" Hurby for sharing these to celebrate the band being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It had always intrigued me how these recordings got into circulation. The band held onto their soundboard recordings very tightly so it had to be someone with some good connections. I've heard various stories, perhaps the most credible is that the tapes originally came from Todd Ploharski of Athens record store Low Yo Yo records. If it was him, thanks Todd. I've given the recording a touch up in iZotope, nothing major, but it was overly loud and needed some finessing to make it sound a little nicer. I also edited out the CD break so it's now a seamless recording. If you still burn to CD in 2020, sorry. This and the other 2 Atlanta shows are the best sounding recordings of the tour. We're lucky to have them.

Prince : A Musical Portrait (Documentary 1989)

14. DOCUMENTARY 9'23

COMMENT

Two of the best 1988 audience recordings finally get the treatment they deserve. These recordings are so good that they put to shame some of the 2004 Musicology shows. The 13th October concert has some nice moments including a very extended version of 'Blues In C', and has the added bonus of a piano medley which includes a performance of 'It's No Secret (What God Can Do)'. The remainder of the show is a pretty typical (although still fantastic) US Lovesexy show. The 14th October concert is worth the price of this 4cd set alone. It has passion, energy and is perhaps THE best of any US Lovesexy show circulating (my site, my opinion). Things are pretty straightforward up until 'Controversy', and the show just goes to a whole other level. Prince stops and starts the intro to the song over and over again while repeating the "Controversy" line, before the band finally launch into the song. There's no piano medley on this show, however the 13 minute 'Take This Beat' portion of 'I Wish U Heaven', which includes a one-off rap by Cat more than makes up for it. Thankfully 'Alphabet Street' is performed, and is a fantastic, fitting way to end these two phenomenal shows. These recordings have been circulating amongst collectors for a while now, however Sabotage have done an excellent job in boosting the (already excellent) sound quality. The added 'Musical Portrait' is nice to have in stereo, however as with all documentaries there is a little too much talking and it is best suited to video not audio. The packaging is superb with some rarely seen photo's, and 2 nice reviews of the shows from the Atlanta Journal. Undoubtedly my personal favourite recent Sabotage release. Love it? I fucking do!

(009202) Page & Plant 1995-03-01 Omni. Atlanta GA (master) (24-bit) (FLAC)

Here's a real-time FM Broadcast I recorded back in the day. As I recall, this show was broadcast as it happened, complete with no commercial breaks. I have in my notes that the "reception at times was bad", but in giving this a listen now, it sounds pretty clean (but be warned) - check the sample.
And a simple request. as we all know, during the 1995 PP tour, taping was allowed at most venues. Which means that there must be some great sounding, low generation recordings out there waiting to be shared with the masses. I realize that the first leg of the 1995 tour is not everyone's favorite PP shows, but there is very little available on TTD or Dime. I do have some good sounding shows from this era but very reluctant to share due to the unknown generation in my collection. So, just a thought, please share your 1995 masters with us - thanks.

The concert was originally scheduled in 2020. A friend of mine won tickets off the radio early in January 2020 when the concert was announced. When the promoters postponed the concert in April of 2020, the radio station said they would reach out to him when the concert was rescheduled so he could get his tickets. When the concert was rescheduled in April 2021, my friend reached out to the radio station several times with no results. No one returned his calls or emails. The day before the concert he got an email from the radio station containing a release document that he had to sign for the tickets. Since he had heard nothing for 7 months on these tickets, he had made other plans and was out of town. He got the tickets and gave them to me. Thank you sir!!!!

I had seen the Rolling Stones many times before. I was skeptical about seeing them in a dome. I had seen them in outdoor stadiums before and the sound was pretty good. I saw them in 1997 in the Georgia Dome and the sound had so much echo. It was bad. I have seen a lot of musical acts that played in the old Georgia Dome and the Mercedes Benz Dome before Atlanta Falcons or Atlanta United games. The sound was always had a lot of echo and too much bass. The sound for this concert was quite surprising. You could hear everything.

The crowd was a little noisey, but the sound on the recording is pretty good.

Notes:
My first concert in over 600 days. It was such an epic show. Just really happy to be seeing live music again. What a great thing. Not to mention being able to tape as the rig had been collecting dust for over 1.5 years. I thought this rig was lost in the mail. A good friend was using this rig all summer taping and wouldn't ya know it. FedEx lost the overnight package (as I have been having a lot of packages going missing the last year) and couldn't believe it happened to this package. Thankfully, it was found almost 8 days later so I could use this rig instead of my backup! I was having issues with my IPA so I had to send it in for a repair and had ordered a babynbox in the meantime. HUGE shoutout to Nick for sending the babynbox to my hotel so I could use it for this show. It was amazing. Great build and awesome for stealthing. Also my first time using the A10 and the iPhone app is definitely worth it.

As for the show. First time seeing the Stones. Was supposed to see them last year in Nashville, so I am glad to make this one! Sound in Mercedes Benz is decent at best. Mick is an absolute beast. Running around and having all that energy is just insane for his age.

Hope to get out to more shows in 2022. Missed doing this!

(008052) Led Zeppelin xxxx-xx-xx "The Soundboard Archive" (16-bit) (FLAC)

Led Zeppelin - “The Soundboard Archive”

Thanks to the original uploaders!

For some time now, I have been making “The Soundboard Archive” compilations. My live-music collection had become so massive that I thought it pointless to keep "multiple-to-the-nth-degree" versions of the same songs, especially for "non-jam" bands: thus the genesis of this project of mine.

This has been my methodology:

I. Choose a trade-allowing artist (= "not on LL's / TTD's NAB lists") & collate all of the tracks from my “SBD” flac/shn files for said artist.

As of this writing, I've made compilations for the following, in chronological order:

01. Gillian Welch & David Rawlings

02. Marvin Gaye

03. Alison Krauss & Union Station

04. The Fall

05. Blind Melon

06. Rush

07. Eddie Money

08. Bob Marley & The Wailers

09. 10cc

10. Alabama Shakes

11. 10,000 Maniacs

12. 311

13. Doc Watson

14. AC/DC

15. Adele

16. Adrian Belew

17. Radiohead

18. The Alarm

19. Billy Joe Shaver

20. Led Zeppelin

21. Bottle Rockets

II. Listen to each track and choose what sounds to my ears to be the “best” version.

III. Rename each chosen track and add tags detailing date & venue.

IV. Compile “the winners” into a “The Soundboard Archive” collection – after ensuring (to the best of my ability) that NO included tracks have been officially released.

Enjoy! Support the artist and buy the officially-released items (to the best of my knowledge & as of this writing) -
