-KISS LIVE AT HAMMOND, INDIANA - NECRAMONIUM EDITION--

The soundboard recording from this show has been made more clearer and noise and hizzing has been reduced.

KISS always played loud (and proud of it), so distortion is still present. An sample has been added of the

original sound without enhancements.

WARNING: These songs are enhanced on how i found it at best, they could sound wrong in your ears and right again in others!

Notes:

On the band's earliest itinerary for this period, dated 9/23/1974, this show was listed as the first

for the new leg of touring with Rush opening. However, Rush was actually opening for Hawkwind at

Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall in Kansas City, MO this night.

The second show of the "Hotter than Hell" tour and first major known change to the set list in over a

year with the appearance of material from the new album in the set. With "Let Me Go, Rock 'N' Roll" having

long been performed, the set adjustment was a cautious one. Because sets are unknown for the return to touring

following the recording of the new album it's not precisely known when the new material started entering the set.

A partial SBD recording from this show is missing the first two songs and begins with an in-progress

"Got to Choose." It was one of the more exciting "leaks" during 2010, even with the inherent imperfections,

providing an early glimpse of the integration of material from the new album.

The opening act was Sammy Hagar.

The last song of the show was "Television Politician", but it's missing from this recording.

notes from wiki.

The first tour in 1976 in support of the album was a short six-week promotional club tour throughout the Midwest. Boston soon found themselves on a nationwide tour that lasted 10 months. "We started playing the Agoras in Cleveland and Columbus," said Delp. "500-1000 seat clubs. The response was great, I was amazed that people were singing along with all the songs. It really impressed upon me the power of radio, the fact that wherever we went, they were just playing the record and people just came, and it was great." However, several bands that the group opened for were less than enthusiastic to meet them. At one point, they were opening for Foghat, but lost the gig when a Milwaukee disc jockey introduced Boston, not headliner Foghat, as the best rock and roll band in the world. While the band were apprehensive about opening for Black Sabbath, the experience was pleasant. "The great thing about Black Sabbath was that they didn't do soundchecks," remembered Delp. "So we were afforded all the time we wanted on stage, Ozzy Osbourne would say, 'Ahh, you wanna go up and play some songs, go ahead.' They couldn't have been nicer.

Boston eventually began headlining shows in 1977, and sold out four Southern California concert halls within a one-week span. Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band opened for Boston in Detroit. On their swing back to the Northeast, they sold out two nights in the Philadelphia Spectrum—and in their New York City debut, three sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden."I sold out arenas with this group in four cities from Lincoln, Nebraska to Louisville, Kentucky," said concert promoter Bob Bagaris to Billboard. "I've never seen such universal penetration of key secondary markets by any major group. Even the biggest acts usually don't do so well in every market.

Note that the last three tracks of disc two (which comprise the encore in full) are not from the master soundboard source. They are in mono, but from a direct source nonetheless. It's likely they originate from an in-house video soundtrack, though I can't confirm this.

With the above caveat out of the way, it's an absolute pleasure to present another blistering show from the 2000 tour in pristine quality. What separates this recording from many others is that it hasn't been widely circulated. I'm pleased to present, for quite likely the first time in public domain, this wonderful show...and what better venue for its release than a site sanctioned by Pete Townshend himself. Those who have heard this show already know what a treat it is; those who will be hearing it for the first time will no doubt enjoy it time and time again. It's simply another rare gem that is finally, and rightfully, seeing the light of day. As always, enjoy!!!

Remastered from cdr, this recording when I first heard it struck me
kind of funny on how it almost sounds like the soundboard tapes that
I've heard once before such as the Led Zeppelin 1980 tour over Europe.
As the audience is compressed and limited to the point where you can
barely hear them, and the band sounds like as if they are playing in a
small concert hall by themselves. These kind of recordings you can hear
everything that the band is doing on stage. WW22 is The Who at the
Blockbuster-Sony Center, Camden, New Jersey 7-7-00.

During this show the band mainly features songs from the "Lifehouse
Project" otherwise commonly known as "Who's Next". Pete's Guitar sounds
nice and crunchy during this show, the only thing's I did to this
recording when I received it was take out some "digital artifacts",
re-enhance the bass & mid-range to add more dimension to the recording
giving it a little more bottom end and using some noise reduction in
certain spots. And a special thanks to "Slipkid" for doing the artwork
for us. I happen to believe this is the best sounding Whoweed release
to date. Can somebody please send me more of these soundboard
recordings ?... Pretty please ??

Enjoy !

John

Bruce Springsteen & The E Street BandYoyogi National Gymnasium

(Recorder 2 - 2nd Generation)

Transfer: 1980's tape trade (2nd Generation) > Nakamichi CR5A (azimuth adjusted) > MacBook Pro > Audacity > Peak Pro XT (indexing/volume smoothing) > xACT > FLAC

Fourth night in Tokyo, there are at least 2 known recorders for this night.

What I'm calling recorder 1 was released as "Live In Japan Vol. 1 and 2" 4 LP Set.

This recorder 2 tape is complete with the exception of 8 seconds missing at the start of Prove It All Night.
I've patched this missing segment with recorder 1 making this share a 100% complete show and very nice document. The taper did a nice job capturing almost the entire show with very little crowd noise.

As with the 23rd, I'll share the alternate recorder sources down the road if nobody else does.

As with all my shares, samples below so you know what you are grabbing...

101 Born In The U.S.A.
102 Badlands
103 Out In The Street
104 Johnny 99
105 Darkness On The Edge Of Town
106 Point Blank
107 Working On The Highway
108 Prove It All Night
109 Glory Days
110 The Promised Land
111 My Hometown
112 Thunder Road
201 Cover Me
202 Dancing In The Dark
203 Hungry Heart
204 Cadillac Ranch
205 Downbound Train
206 I'm On Fire
207 Bobby Jean
208 Rosalita
301 Can't Help Falling In Love
302 Born To Run
303 Ramrod
304 Sherry Darling
305 Twist And Shout + Do You Love Me?

Known Issues:
-Prove It All Night (8 seconds cut at the start / patched with Recorder 1 source)

Enjoy!

original seeder's notes:
--
This is one of my favorite Boston boots from years past.
It's Boston in their prime and in their home town!
The crowd was rowdy and the band fed off of that.
Tom Scholz even instructed the crowd to ignore the rules
and stand on their seats if they wanted to.

This recording was widely traded for years on cassette,
and eventually released on a bootleg CD called "Party to Boston".
But finding a good audio source proved difficult.
I finally obtained a 2nd gen cassette tape which sounds
way better than any tape of this show I had heard previously...
and sounds *much* better than "Party to Boston"
(which is even missing a song).

No work has been done to the audio other than transfer
and normalization. Personally, I think it sounds great
just as it is. But this is a good reference copy to work
from if anybody feels bold enough to try their hand at it.

I reworked the artwork from "Party to Boston" to fit this boot.
Everything is exactly as it was except for the back.
It now reflects two CDs and lists the missing song
"Television Politician". I also added a slight drop shadow
on the text for readability. The artwork is 200dpi.

Reseed:
audio files retracked and repaired
[clicks and multiple dropouts removed/repaired
from some tracks, no EQ etc. applied;
remaining flaws:
some cuts in applause were made in the original version
- some fades were applied]
new checksum files created and this info file revised;
original info file and artwork included.

Thanks again to the taper and original seeder for this recording
