Recorded 19MAY16 at the Foellinger Theatre, Fort Wayne, Indiana
Alice hit the stage at 7:25PM, opening with the familiar Vincent Price
spoken part, which serves nicely as the introduction for "The Black
Widow."
There were twenty-two songs performed altogether, and the crowd was
really into it, with a mix of middle aged folks and some youngsters,
including two young women probably not past their mid twenties
directly in front of where my wife and I were, so it's encouraging to
see that Alice is stil attracting new fans after all these years.
A real highlights was the extended intro for "Poison"
performed by Alice's very talented (and yes, very beautiful) lady
guitarist, Nita Strauss.
Likewise, Alice's drummer, Glen Sobel does a nice even more extended
drum solo, exhibiting lots of fancy fills, drumstick acrobatics, and
incorporated (I'm unsure about exactly how they did this) a really jarring audio
effect that went from low frequency to extremely low frequency, which
can be heard several times during his solo.
Alice performed one encore, "Elected," but that was still a nice and
amusing closer, especially with two people he had come out on stage,
one wearing a Hillary Clinton mask and the other wearing a Donald
Trump mask, both kicking each other in the butt and otherwise
engaging in mock violence.
Recorded with Tascam DR-07 in 16-bit mode at 44.1KHz.
The raw WAV file was subsequently divided with Audacity into
individual WAV track.
WAV files compressed to FLAC format and full descriptive metadata were
added to all files using KID3.
There was no remastering or modification of any sort to the audio,
with only a simple division and compression to FLAC performed.
I have to make a bit of an apology for the volume level clearly being
adjusted at the very beginning of the first track, "The Black Widow"
because my levels that were perfect before that suddenly went into
distortion territory, so I had to hurriedly readjust the volume to get
it back into acceptable territory.
Also, I made the mistake of bumping the pause button for a moment near
the end of "Feed My Frankenstein," so that's why a few seconds are
missing from that, but at least I caught it and corrected it in less
than fifteen seconds.
