Show notes:
This was the first Aerosmith show in Finland for 10 years. In 1997 they played on the very same venue as well for a sold out crowd. Based on just how it looked, this show too looked sold out though I'm not sure if it was officially, very close if not more. The opening act for Aerosmith was a Finnish hard rock band Los Bastardos Finlandeses, who opened up for Aerosmith in Latvia and Estonia on 3rd and 5th days as well., was also taped and will be available separately for those who wish to have that as well.
Not 100% certain if other recordings of this show exist, but considering there's been several recordings of most Helsinki shows recently, and the last Aerosmith show was also taped, I decided it best to name this to separate it from possible other recordings. The title comes from the date obviously, as well as what I believe is the tour name, unless the Euro tour has a different name to the US one earlier of course. The "Route" theme was still being used with the on screen videos for the encore break though. Pondered awhile at naming it "Nuole Mua Helsinki", which is Finnish for "Lick Me Helsinki" which was what was written just below Tyler's belly button, minus the Helsinki part of course. Bet the ladies got few kicks out of him unbuttoning his pants for them heh. Needless to say, the big screen was zoomed in just for that.
Recording notes:
I was located right next to the soundboard and had pretty much no problems whatsoever when recording. On my right side there was a guy who was clapping pretty loud in between and during songs but I was very glad to see that it's not distracting at all on the recording. Another thing that I'm even happier about is that I got out of the venue alive to breath some fresh air (through a cigarette filter though but anyway). Throughout the show I had to endure someone passing gas pretty much once a minute. Even the soundguys were holding their noses few meters behind. There's a strange digiglitch at the very end of Baby Please Don't Go on one single word that Tyler says, it sounds like it'd distort a bit, but the volume level was very low at that part so it is most definitely not distorting because of my recording. It is also possible it came out of the PA like that. Other than this, there are no anomalies in this recording. You can hear me coughing up pretty badly between some songs, which was pretty much the best I could do to prevent it from ruining any of the songs. No noticeable phasing occurs on the recording as I stayed put throughout the entire show, only taking occasional step to the side to avoid people bumping into me.
Apart from normalizing, nothing else was done to this recording. It sounded good enough as it is and I prefer to do as little changes as possible so I chose not to do any equalizing to it.
