Performance / Recording Notes:

David Gilmour makes his long awaited return to US television screens via the Jimmy Kimmel show. The band performs five
songs in total. Three newer solo tracks and two Pink Floyd classics. David and the band's performance here is fantastic!
Even though they have to run through "High Hopes" and "Today" twice. I think that this had more to do with production
issues rather than anything to do with the performers. All versions are here for your enjoyment; all of which are keepers
IMHO. David's vocals are embued with a slight rasp although not hoarse. David's amazing hallmark guitar work is truly the
showcase here. He is accompanied by some of the world's best session players here including producer and Roxy alum,
Phil Manzanera and longtime collaborator, Guy Pratt. There's a lot of detail and subtlety in the performance. I'm very
fortunate to have captured most of it.

The recording is a solid pull off the right stack. As such, there isn't much in the way of stereo imaging here but vocals and
instrumentation are clear. With that being said, there is considerable crowd noise. Thankfully the lion's share of it is
between songs. Still there is a fair amount of cheering and whistling during the introductions and end of songs. I did what
I could to mitigate the loudest clapping without interfering with the music. The performance has been judiciously edited and
"condensed" in order to spare you all of the production stops and warm-up guy Don's Kinnison-esque screaming. This eliminated
nearly 80% of the shouting from the guy to my right and the whistling from the guy behind me. I tried to make the transitions
as smooth as possible, but most are still fairly noticeable. None of the performances have been edited. Believe me, I wanted
it to be perfect. It's close, but it's not quite there. David's voice as well as his guitar work is at the front of the mix
here. All in all I don't think that anyone will be disappointed.

Highlights:

David's indelible pedal steel guitar work on "High Hopes" and vocal riffing on "Wish You Were Here". Sublime.
