where were you 50 years ago tonight?
if you were in Cincinnati, this is where you should have been.
one of the shortest and greatest tours for Carlos and John
it lasted just over 2 weeks.
this is not the full show, as much as an hour may be missing from the end
including most of the life divine.
it was determined when this was first posted (2011) that this is from Cincinnati.
someone mentioned the venue too, I think it may have been at Crisler Arena? (Not Chrysler)
but do not remember.
I will always remember seeing this tour a couple of nights earlier in Boston Music Hall.
4th time for me seeing John and Billy, 1st for the others.
it was 2.5 hours of pure bliss. pretty similar sort of a show here.
I rearranged the description in here a little bit, but
this is a reseed. nothing has been changed from the 2011 posting.
fortunately this is most of the show. some samples are in comments. ian

Notes:
JEMS is proud to be able to partner with and present some of the choice recordings in the D & D archives. Some of these recordings have been around for years but none of the master tapes or safety copies in some cases have ever been digitized until now. Dave and Donn taped many shows in and around the Seattle area in the 70's and also were contemporaries of some of the JEMS members. Volume 28 features another one of Dave's brother's master recordings. This particular tape and show in general is previously uncirculated recording prior to June 2011. This show has been said to have taken place in Cincinnati but Dave's brother believes the show took place in Columbus possibly at the University of Columbus auditorium. As of this writing we do not know what the correct city or venue is for the recording but do know it is indeed the Aug 30th show. The recording is mostly complete but cuts out once the 90 minute tape runs out. It is assumed at a minimum they would have closed the show with Let Us Go Into The House Of The Lord like they did at all the other shows known to have recordings available.
