KISS - March 14, 1976
Memphis, TN
Ellis Auditorium North Hall
Beaver Productions / Don Fox
Other act(s): Target (opener)
Reported audience: 4,361 **SOLD-OUT
Reported gross: $26,166
Source: Audience recording, less than perfect but 70s KISS!
Lineage: Master Tape > WAV > FLAC
This transfer has circulated for years. It's incomplete, likely missing the encores (Cold Gin / Rock And Roll All Nite / Let Me Go, Rock 'N Roll). It's got tape wobble, a couple of drop-outs, and is a typical overblown AUD recording. Still, it's glorious 1970s KISS, live from the tail end of the "Alive" tour.
96_Notes: The original tape transfer for this show dated from 2011. The tape had a damaged pressure pad, and the anti-friction pads were degraded. Old shell was cracked open and the reels transferred to a fresh one for this transfer. It's a marked improvement over the original, but it still is what it is and will never be what it isn't. Good example is ~3:00 in "Deuce," where wobble and flutter are noticeably reduced.
