Announced in late 2022, Billy Joel and Stevie Nicks scheduled only 10 shows throughout
the United States in 2023. However, Arlington has been rescheduled for March, 2024.
Columbus was fortunate to get one of the dates. This was Billy's first visit back
since 2009 (which was with Elton John) and his last full on solo performance in Columbus
was in the spring of 2008. So, it was a welcome return, as it had been over 14 years
since his last appearance. I live in Columbus and seeing multiple shows in Pittsburgh,
Detroit, Cleveland and other midwest cities over the past decade plus has been
frustrating to say the least. It was nice to finally get a home show for me! The setlist
was pretty standard with the rarest probably being "The Longest Time", which still gets
played from time to time. Billy is 74 years old now and still sounds very strong.
His famous Garden residency will conclude in July of 2024, lets hope he still plays
from time to time as long as he physically still can. He is a personal favorite!
