Early 1971

Lineage: Low gen TDK SA90 cassette (1983) > Technics RS-B565 > Focusrite Saffire Pro 14 > Reaper v4.76 > FLAC (24bit/96kHz)

Careful53 received his copy of this recording from Steve B. The original source tape came from EMKA’s offices in New Bond Street, London in 1974 and was labelled Nothing Parts 1 & 2.

This version of the tracks is complete unlike my February 2015 release. It is also significantly more dynamic and detailed but there is some distortion that was not present on the DAT. Careful53's tape peaks at around 0dB so the harm must have occurred earlier in the lineage. I also have a 3rd gen marbal version which has notably less high end and the same distortion.

I used iZotope to improve the balance between the channels and align the azimuth, then added 1.68dB in Reaper before exporting.

I agree with goldenband who commented in 2015 that these songs fit into a pattern of Pink Floyd outtakes being a lot weirder and, sometimes, less aesthetically successful.
